Steps to Certification
Step 1 - Requirements for Admission
- Complete online application *January - August
- Undergraduate degree
Step 2 - Provisional Acceptance
- Sign RTL contract
- Set up payment plan
- Begin Praxis Preparation Modules
Step 3 - Provisional Enrollment
- Complete RTL orientation
- Apply for teaching positions in your chosen content area
- Interview for open teaching positions
- Take Praxis II content exam to obtain a Plan of Study *Note: You are not fully enrolled in RTL until this step is complete
- Begin coursework
Step 4 - Full Enrollment
- Obtain a Plan of Study
- Obtain a Practitioner’s License
- Begin observation cycle
Step 5 - Complete Certification
- Complete two semesters of field experience as a teacher of record
- Pass all required Praxis exams
- Complete all coursework
- Pay remaining balance in full - Total $3,
- Apply for level 1 teaching certificate

Why should you become a teacher?
